Bent Wire Fishing & who we are

Although Bent Wire Fishing may have been brought to life in 2020, there's countless years of experience on the water that goes along with it and Bent Wire Fishing is just the next generation of our family and our expanding knowledge. In the beginning the family was split, half of them residing in the North and another half in the South. Either way; fishing was something we were born into, ran through our viens and was a regular part of our lives and not just for family fun, entertainment or a way to relax, but sometimes even as way to just put food on the table.

Personally and originally from the North East where fresh water and salt water fishing were readily available, our fishing roots began there; Grandma and Grandpa's house was a short walk away from home, where they resided directly on a small fresh water lake on Long Island, New York. Species of sun fish and small mouth bass swam the waters there and was fished for regularly, normally, during the week when other fishing outings weren't already planned. A minimal drive away, Great Grandpa and Great Grandma lived, on the South shore, where the salt water bays, beaches and canals were fished from the docks and piers to the surf of the beaches and gentle rides out into the bays on the family boat. Salt water species ranging from eels and small bait fish in the traps to snapper, mackerel and larger sea bass were a regular target. Out of Montauk N.Y. where the larger family owned and operated boat was docked, regular trips into the Atlantic ocean and long runs into the depths of off shore canyon runs were made and seasonal charter runs available to the public via the families secondary business. During a time when the sea was bountiful with: blue fish, mahi, yellow fin tuna and more, the fish wells were packed consistently. Further off shore, giant tuna and bill fish were prized, and of course after a certain movie, from the 1980's, filled the public's eye with not just fear, but also an addictive allure that some considered to also include bragging rights, sharks of all species quickly became a sought after target of their own also.
After growing up on the water and in these areas, a move to North Central Florida was made to reconnect the family. Now Papa and the other side of the family with their own passion for the outdoors, nature and of course the water, would become the next venture and focus to be instilled. A vast fresh water fisheries of lakes, rivers and reservoirs, rich with species such as; catfish, black crappie and of course large mouth bass, now surrounded us. And being in the center of the state, left ample opportunity for fishing on the Atlantic ocean, Intercoastal and the Gulf coast for their combined and seemingly unlimited assortment of sub-tropical, inland and off shore salt water species.
In the more and most recent years; although fishing of any kind, salt and fresh water alike, is still enjoyed and performed regularly, however, continuing to be based in sunshine state and in the region commonly known among the fresh water fishing comunity as the "sun-belt", the passion for fresh water Bass fishing continues to grow and is among the top of our list. The constant adaptation to any given body of water, and change in weather cycles for these species is emensly enjoyed along with the various techniques to be employed in catching them effectively and efficiently.
Now armed with many years worth of our own on the water and the learned knowledge and experience from those before, a passion for the water and fishing that continues to expand what we know, focus on an ever changing industry filled with new equipment, technology and techniques, gives Bent Wire Fishing and it's community a solid foundation for being a resource for expanding the knowledge and abilities of others.
So our goals are; wether your new to fishing and looking for general beginer information, looking for a way to help guide someone else or a teaching aid for others, an avid fisherman looking to broaden your abilities, or a veteran of the waters and just out looking for new ideas or news on what's new, we hope to be your first resource and a resource you can count on!
